Two Jakarta Boxers Advance to PON XXI Semifinals

Two male and female bantamweight boxers from Jakarta have successfully advanced to PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024 semifinals. Aldoms Suguro and Novita Sinadia, managed to defeat their opponents in the match at Pematangsiantar GOR, North Sumatra, Sunday (9/15) night.

She could control the match

Jakarta Pertina Provincial Executive Board Chair, Hengky Silatang said Jakarta's female boxer, Novita, managed to defeat Grensia Boleng from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) via RSC in the third round.

"During the three rounds, she could control the match. Hard blows to the face and body were launched from her hands since the first round," he expressed, Monday (9/16).

Entering the second and third rounds, she threw several punches that shook Grensia.

"Until finally the referee stopped the match because he saw Grensia faltering several times due to Novita's fast punches," he explained.

He explained that Novita would advance to the semifinals to challenge Hindriawati Haer from South Sulawesi.

As for the Male boxer, Aldoms Suguro also managed to defeat Angga Manurung from the Riau Islands. He advanced to the semifinals and will face rising Southpaw Ilham Tapajati from West Java.

"Now is the time for Aldoms Suguro to become the PON champion and show an even better performance," he stressed.
